Guidelines Internship

The Seminar for Applied Mathematics offers internship opportunities to particularly talented undergraduate and MSc students of numerical mathematics and computational science and engineering.

Conditons of internship:

After you have been ACCEPTED as an INTERNSHIP at the Seminar for Applied Mathematics, following documents have to be submitted:

  1. Proof of accommodation in Zurich for the period of internship (letter of the landlord/host with complete contact information)
  2. Confirmation letter from your university stating that the internship is an integrated part of your study and that it is compulsory (only for Non EU/EFTA citizens).
  3. Letter from your university certifying that your are enrolled as a student.
  4. For Non-EU/EFTA  citizens: Fill in (only the first page) of the document "Foreign employees, application for entry permit and cross border commuter permit" (in twofold): http://www.pa.ethz.ch/formulare/index_EN/1115-Einreise_english.pdf
  5. Copy of your passport
  6. Filled-in Personal Information Form http://www.pa.ethz.ch/formulare/1172-Personalbogen_EN.pdf

It will take up to 3 months to get an entry permit from the Swiss authorities. Only after receipt of the entry permit, you will be able to apply for a visa at the Swiss Embassy in your country.
We would like to draw your attention to the fact that it is most important to provide the confirmations mentioned under point 2 and 3, which are absolutely indispensable for granting an entry permit.
