Description
The diffusion-reaction-problem (elliptic partial differential equation) is investigated. By the method of optimal super- and subsolutions and by using maximum principles, isoperimetric inequalities for the minimum of the solution and the maximum of the gradient are derived. With the same ideas we derive isoperimetric bounds for the effectiveness factor. All inequalities depend only on the given functions and on geometric data.
